This is related to the security settings within Windows and its applications. Because Advantage is a 3rd Party application, sometimes Windows can flag it due to the Advantage application wanting to send files (in this case, invoices or statements) through Outlook. The issue can be resolved by running all Advantage applications as well as Outlook with administrator rights. To setup icons to run with administrator rights, please follow these steps:

SOLUTION 1:

For Advantage Applications:

1. Go to the following directory on your computer: C:\Program Files\Spiralsoft\Advantage\bin\

2. Right-click on the three following icons: AdvantageB.exe, AdvantageF.exe, and AdvantageP.exe.

3. Go to the "Send To..." section, and select "Desktop (create shortcut)"

4. Go to your desktop, and delete your previous icons.

5. Rename the newly created icons to whatever you desire, but we suggest keeping the original names. (E.g. Advantage Back Office)

6. Right-click on the Back Office icon, and click Properties.

7. Click the "Advanced..." button in the bottom right corner.

8. Tick the square next to "Run as administrator", and click OK.

9. Follow step 6-8 again for the Point-of-Sale icon, and for the Casing tracking icon.

For Outlook Application:

1. Go to the following directory on your computer: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office16\ OR C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\

2. Right-click on the following icon: OUTLOOK.EXE

3. Go to the "Send To..." section, and select "Desktop (create shortcut)"

4. Go to your desktop, and delete your previous icons.

5. Rename the newly created icons to whatever you desire.

6. Right-click on the Outlook icon, and click Properties.

7. Click the "Advanced..." button in the bottom right corner.

8. Tick the square next to "Run as administrator", and click OK.

NOTE: If the search functionality becomes disabled in Microsoft Outlook due to the application being run as admin, contact Microsoft Support in order for them to assit. In the case where the emails do not want to send attachments, it is very important to run the Advantage application as admin.

NOTE: Additionally, make sure a Statements folder has been created in the "C:\Advantage\" directory, or that the export location that was setup in the System Options is also created in the local PC.

SOLUTION 2:

NOTE: This solution is only for those who get a constant popup where they have to select Allow, Deny or More. This popup blocks the attachments from sending if the approprite button is not selected quickly enough.

1. In Outlook, click on File in the top left corner.

2. Click on Options. (if you have an older version of Outlook, go to the respective Outlook options in your version.

3. In the left pane, click on "Trust Center" at the bottom.

4. Click on "Trust Center Settings.." in the right pane.

5. Go to "Programmatic Access" on the left, and then select "Never warn me about suspicious activity".

6. Click "OK" - and then you should be good to go.
