If you have access to the Stock Adjustments module in Back-office, you will be able to complete stock adjustments. 


NOTE: It is recommended that access to stock adjustments should be restricted to certain users only. 


The process below can be followed to correct inventory/ stock quantities on hand, and/or Last Cost and Average Cost. 


1. In Advantage Back-office, click the left sidebar menu.

2. Click on the Products menu

3. Open the Stock Adjustments module. 

4. Go to the "Inventory Adjustments" tab. 

5. If required:

  • Select a filter option, and choose an option from the drop-down list. When done right, filters enable users to narrow down a selection of products to only those few items that match their particular needs and interest. 
  • Tick the "With Quantity On Hand Only" checkbox. This will ensure that only products that has a positive quantity on the system, is displayed.

6. Type the product code into the "Search Criteria" field. 

7. Click on the Fetch button. 

8. Select the the product you would like to adjust: 

9. The following 2 options are available:

Adjust ONLY cost OR on hand quantityStock take-on
Used to adjust a single product's quantity on hand or Last/ Average Cost for things that occur outside normal business activities like for example damaged goods, write-offs, theft, donations, data entry errors, etc.Used when stock is brought over from other/ previous software. This will only be done once, and should not be performed after the opening stock take-on has been completed.
Can only adjust:
  • Last Cost & Average Cost OR
  • On Hand 
Can adjust Last-, Average Cost and On Hand quantity simultaneously.
Leave the "Stock take-on?" checkbox unselected. Tick the "Stock take-on?" before saving the stock. 


10. Enter the reason for the adjustment in the Comments field. 


NOTE: if incorrect information was entered, click on the Reset button


11. Select the month and year from the "Post to Accounting Period" drop down date pickers. This will ensure that the Stock Adjustment is posted to the appropriate accounting period. 

12. Click on the Save button.

13. The adjusted products can be seen in a list at the bottom of the screen:
