Device and Printers give you a simple way to access and manage external devices (including printers, scanners, faxes, cameras) connected to your computer.
From there you can see how many documents are in the printing queue, set the paper size for printing, add or delete a printer, etc.

To troubleshoot your printer, try some of the following solutions to see if your issue becomes resolved:
SOLUTION 1
Make sure the printer is turned on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your device.
- To find out if your printer is connected to Wi-Fi, see if your printer's built-in menu has options for checking its Wi-Fi connection, or check the printer's manual for instructions about how to add it to a Wi-Fi network. In the case where the printer is connected directly to a computer, or to a network via an ethernet cable, make sure all cables are plugged in correctly and try again.
SOLUTION 2
Run a printer power cycle
- Turn off your printer and unplug it, wait 30 seconds, plug your printer back in, and then turn the printer back on. Sometimes power-cycling your printer like this can resolve the issue.
SOLUTION 3
Clear the print queue.
- Go to your Devices and Printers settings. Right-click on the printer in question, and select "See what's printing". Under the Document Name column, select any documents listed, and under the Document tab located at the top, select Cancel.
SOLUTION 4
Reset the service that manages the printing queue.
- In the search box on the taskbar, type services, and then select Services in the list of results. Find the Print Spooler service, right-click it, and select Restart.
SOLUTION 5
Remove and re-add your printer to your device.
- Select the Start button, and then select Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners. Select your printer, select Remove device, and then select Yes. Under Printers & scanners, select Add a printer or scanner and follow the instructions to re-add the printer.
SOLUTION 6
Restart your PC.
- Rebooting your PC can sometimes help to refresh the services and components necessary for your device to communicate with your printer.
